At the Feuerstein Nature Family Resort, the most nature-connected place of power in the Alps, we unite the highest standards of comfort, service and design with the commitment to sustainability. After all, we believe that everyone should contribute to a more sustainable future. Starting from the smallest details all the way to the bigger picture – this philosophy underlies all our decisions.
Amidst an impressive natural scenery, beneath majestic mountain peaks and roaring waterfalls, there is one thing you can feel very clearly: the power of the mountains. A power that fulfils, affects and inspires. A power that provides energy and at the same time allows to find peace. Unspoilt and genuine, the Feuerstein embodies this connection to nature as well as the commitment to living values. In an intensive and lasting way. With the constant promise of experiencing a wonderful sojourn. Here, it is easy to let go from the very start, for an entire family holiday.
The Pflersch valley is a very special place of retreat. This is also expressed in the intelligent architecture of the building: despite its large volume, the plain-elegant hotel blends into the landscape in a pleasantly restrained manner, thus leaving priority to nature. Large window fronts connect the exterior with the interior, so as to feel connected to nature on the inside as well. Combined with natural building materials, such as natural wood, silver quartzite and wool from local producers, this creates a pleasant and cosy atmosphere.
We attach great importance to a sustainable energy supply and preservation of natural resources. Our hotel is heated with wood. In fact, we obtain heat from our wood chip boiler which exclusively uses local wood – a truly carbon-neutral solution. At our power plant, we also produce 100% green electricity harnessing the power of water.
We are proud to say that we are 100% energy self-sufficient.
Surrounded by nature and yet very easy to reach – even by train. Nowadays, travelling by train is anything but old-fashioned or cumbersome. In fact, it is climate-friendly and sustainable. We will be happy to pick you up at one of the train stations nearby. Even during your stay you won't miss your car as there is so much to discover and experience inside and around the Feuerstein that you just don't want to leave :)
Moreover, we feature several EV chargers as well as numerous e-mountain bikes for rent.
Regional and true to our roots. These are the values we are committed to every day and which we practise with great enthusiasm. Whenever it is possible, we choose to work with local companies, producers and partners. In this way, in the spirit of our social responsibility, we support local supply chains to avoid long transport routes – a further contribution to the protection of our environment.
We also mainly rely on using ingredients from local producers for the preparation of our dishes, in some cases we even get them from partners located right here in the Pflersch valley. They attach the same importance to quality, animal welfare, natural cultivation and artisan production as we do.
We are also very concerned about wasting less food as possible. Therefore, our kitchen team focuses on an integral utilisation of ingredients – especially when it comes to meat. Which means that not only certain cuts are used, such as the fillet, but almost the entire animal.
At our Mountain Spa we rely on well-chosen natural products as well as on partners who share our same sustainable, value-aware and nature-loving mindset. One of these partners is Vitalis Team Dr Joseph, a certified producer of organic cosmetics from South Tyrol. Its aspiration is to render natural active ingredients accessible to people and, moreover, to harmoniously combine them with traditional knowledge into products and treatments.
Recently, we also launched Feuerstein Nature Cosmetics – our own cosmetics line with genuine high-quality natural products that are made from organic and plant-based active ingredients.
Based on the pedagogical philosophy of Maria Montessori, nature always plays an important part in our childcare program. It is about perceiving, understanding and learning with all senses. Excursions through woods and meadows, working with wood or hay-jumping in the play barn are particularly stimulating examples of these learning activities. The agenda is filled with falling, getting up again, laughing, painting, crafting, meeting animals and plants and much more!
