Still waters and raging torrents. The Eisack, second biggest river in South Tyrol, is the place to go for rafting in Sterzing, South Tyrol. It runs from Brenner and winds its way in ribbons large and small, sometimes a trickle and sometimes a flood, through the Eisack valley and past the three towns of Sterzing, Brixen and Klausen before flowing into the Etsch, 96 km downstream. Some of the stretches of the Eisack are excellent for rafting tours at all difficulty levels.
Kids and adults can enjoy the white-water rapids in a river-raft, with a paddle, a life jacket and experienced guides on board. A number of rafting schools in the Eisack Valley specialise in this adventurous leisure activity and offer tours from June to September.
