The Feuerstein is made for children. Quickly hopping onto the tractor, heading over to the outdoor playground, playing a round of football on the sports field and finally climbing onto the pirate raft to cross the pond. As a children’s hotel in the Alps and a place for holidays with children in South Tyrol, we are close to nature, with all the senses and with plenty of heart. Where else do we learn more about life than from Mother Earth? Day after day, we offer a varied and meaningful kids’ programme inspired by the Montessori philosophy: “Children are guests who ask for the way.” At the heart of it all are the children, their personalities and needs, and the freedom they need to unfold.

Let’s get ready to experience a cosy day at the Feuerstein! Fancy doing handicrafts with natural materials and colourful flowers?

Sense and create with the earth: unleash your imagination and join us in creating fantastic things with clay!
12 noon
Busy people like us get a rumbling stomach –time for a delicious lunch!
1 p.m.
Let's stretch our legs: the waterfall hike leads us to discover the waterfalls around the Feuerstein.

Let’s explore the dwarves’ forest to play with pine cones, branches, stones and everything that nature offers.

Frequently asked questions
Why does childcare apply set drop-off and pick-up times?
The fixed times are important for planning and a well-organised daily routine. After the arrival time, the groups head out depending on the programme, whether into South Tyrol’s nature, into the garden or to other rooms.
Are siblings (3 and 6 years old) allowed to be in the same group?
Older children are welcome to join the group of younger ones. However, the other way round must be decided individually and discussed with the supervisors, as the little ones cannot participate in all activities of the older ones.
What are children up to in childcare?
On Sundays, the childcare programme is jointly defined with the children according to their interests. Indoor activities such as handicrafts can also be held outdoors, as the weather permits.
What is the “Feuerstein hour”?
The Feuerstein Hour takes place daily from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. During this time, we look back on the day together and spend the evening with various activities that bring a calm, creative or playful end to a children’s holiday in South Tyrol.
Is there also childcare for babies and toddlers under the age of 4?
Yes, at the Feuerstein we offer childcare from the age of 0. Babies and toddlers are lovingly accompanied and experience their first moments of play, discovery and rest in a protected setting.
Is childcare included in the room price or charged separately?
Regular childcare is included in the room price. Anyone who would like private childcare in addition can book this on request and for an additional charge.
What happens to the kids’ programme in bad weather?
Even in bad weather, a varied programme awaits at the Feuerstein. Many activities are then moved indoors, for example to the creative rooms, the play barn, the mud room or other indoor areas of the children’s world.
Does childcare need to be booked in advance, or is spontaneous registration on site possible?
Advance registration is not absolutely necessary, but it helps us with planning. We therefore recommend requesting the desired childcare as early as possible. Spontaneous registrations on site are generally possible.
Is childcare also available in the evening after 9 pm if parents would like to stay out longer?
Yes, childcare can also be organised after 9 pm on request. We recommend booking this in advance so that we can plan everything accordingly. Evening childcare is available for an additional charge.
