In a site of energy, where nature resonates all around and an atmosphere of warmth pervades the air, your hosts share one passion: To look after you. And they do it in the happy, carefree, sincere style so inherent to the people of this valley. Here, where mountain peaks and vineyards rise up towards the sky, where Mediterranean cuisine fuses with Alpine recipes and children come home from a family walk with rosy cheeks, in a land which is home to some truly unique people. You’ll meet some of them during your mountain holiday.
His love for the Feuerstein burst into flame the moment he bought the property, which was then a farm, in 2000. And ever since, Peter Mader‘s passion for this powerhouse of nature, and his desire to share the magic of this unique patch of earth with others, has continued to burn bright. Whenever he has a free weekend, he makes his way here to the foot of waterfalls and mountain peaks with his partner Sarah and daughters Sophie and Greta: While his children amass unforgettable memories, he recharges his batteries with all the energy he needs for his daily challenges as an entrepreneur.
The Feuerstein is the reason why she returned to her home town after many years abroad. Verena came back to South Tyrol after several experiences in England, Austria and especially in Switzerland to manage the Feuerstein. Ambitious and committed, always there for guests and employees. Her favourite place is the hotel lobby, as she loves the cosy bar and the welcoming atmosphere among the guests.
Our long-standing childcare expert learned his skills while studying at educational college and at the Free University of Bolzano, and is a great advocate of the Maria Montessori principles. Our younger guests observe, learn and understand something new each and every day when Florian calls them to join the supervised children's time. Even if the weather is not all it could be, his sparklingly sharp mind quickly comes up with an alternative. There is always something going on in the play barn and the wood workshop (one of his favourite Feuerstein places). Florian likes to be on the go and loves music: playing football, playing the trumpet and singing in the choir always put a smile on his face.
Tina is a passionate chef. The cuisine of the South Tyrolean woman is rooted in the region but does not miss creativity and innovation. Regionality and seasonality are not only common-used phrases for the 32-year old chef. Less is more, and her focus lies on genuine quality products. The dishes simply taste better, when you know where they come from and when they have a story to tell. What is more, if the ingredients are manufactured with love and care a unique taste experience is guaranteed. Her favourite place at the Feuerstein is the kitchen. What else could it be.
Eros Teboni has honed his passion for wine to perfection: With a solid training and a number of professional milestones at prestigious hotels behind him, the born-and-bred Sterzinger has placed the crown atop his career with his victory at the FIS WSA 2018 Sommelier World Championships in Rome, where he was awarded the title of “Best Sommelier in the World.” Here at the Feuerstein the master sommelier is responsible for the superb wine list, together with his girlfriend Rosa Besler, while in his leisure time he keeps his palate in perpetual training on wine tours at home and abroad. True to the motto of “Nothing is impossible,” Eros has set himself the goal of establishing the 5-star family hotel as a top address for dining and fine wines in the Alps. The new wine cellar is his favourite place in the Feuerstein.
The mother of two manages the MountainSPA in the Pflersch Valley, at the spot where the energy of our natural resources converge and makes itself felt in all its authentic, natural glory. Stefanie uses certified organic cosmetics and blends them into customised holistic spa treatments. And how does Stefanie relax in her own free time? She likes to read, knit and embroider. And as the mother of two lively children, she loves taking them hiking and skiing around the mountains of our lands.
The friendly voice on the telephone echoes once more at check-in time in the form of a helpful, skilled receptionist. No matter whether it’s about your booking, a day-trip to the nearest mountain hut or a replacement for a forgotten item, she and her team are always on hand to help out, with unfailingly professional service, during your family holiday in the Pflersch Valley. Her favourite place at the Feuerstein is the library and its fireplace. Eva dedicates her spare time to aromatherapy and the beneficial effects of essential oils.
Skilled and swift, Angelika and her cleaning team transform the Feuerstein into a place of unreserved comfort and wellbeing. She also likes to get creative at times, and after a visit from the angel of cleanliness, the beds in the family suites look more welcoming than ever. And it doesn’t end there: Her trained eye checks over every room in the house from top to bottom to make sure that everything is pristine clean and in working order. Every single part of the hotel is under her scrutiny, from the yoga loft to the dining rooms to the childcare rooms. After she finishes work Angelika devotes her time to her pastimes, which include swimming, knitting and walking through the Pflersch forest.
Probably the most beautiful workplace in the whole of the Feuerstein: this is the spot that Michael has made his own. On the top floor of the play barn, with its open view of the Pflersch mountains, hour upon hour is spent hammering, planing an filing during our children's activities in the wood workshop. Coming as he does just a stone's throw from the Feuerstein, Michael knows the Pflersch Valley like the back of his hand. He walks the lands far and wide in his archery, hiking and ski tours, ever in search of new pet-places.
When it comes to Feuerstein technology, Alexander’s many years of experience are crucial. He ensures that electric cables and vents, elevators and taps are in perfect condition. With an attentive eye, he troubleshoots, tests and tests again: Is the water in the baby pool at the right temperature? Are all the lights working? Whatever happens, and wherever it happens, his practical skills and boundless knowledge are always needed. True to his adage "The journey is the destination," the South Tyrolean loves to dream of far-distant lands, explore the world and marvel at the beauty of the mountains on a hike.
