Baby's first holiday? No problem at Feuerstein! Including tips from midwife Stephanie

Published 05.08.2025

The first holiday with a baby is something very special for most people. What do you need to take with you? How will the baby cope with the change? How will you manage the long journey? Countless questions swirl around in your head. Our hotel is perfectly tailored to the needs of babies and toddlers, making your first holiday with your little ones a breeze. In the following article, you can find out more about the advantages. You will also find some great tips from midwife Stephanie Rex, who regularly holds exciting events for pregnant women and parents here at the Feuerstein as part of Baby Days.

The Feuerstein for the little ones

Feuerstein is the ideal place for your first holiday with your baby. At the heart of the resort is nature-based childcare based on the Montessori philosophy. Our youngest guests can look forward to loving baby and toddler care in the recently expanded Baby & Mini Room with a walk-in doll's house, race track, toy shop and climbing honeycomb, as well as cuddle, crawling and craft corners – after all, professional and, above all, loving care is the most important thing, because only then can mum and dad relax without worrying.

In addition, there is a large selection of items available for hire and exciting activities such as baby yoga, crawling lessons and baby massage courses. We want to enable you to enjoy unforgettable quality time with your little treasures, but also to have some time together as a couple or time for yourself.

Our special offer: Baby Days with midwife Stephanie for mums and pregnant women

Our Baby Days with midwife Stephanie Rex (bookable this year from 13 to 28 September) are an absolute highlight for new parents, but also for pregnant women. Enjoy a few wonderful days of holiday and pick up helpful tips and tricks for pregnancy, birth and the time afterwards. From various theoretical workshops to postnatal exercise and aqua power courses for pregnant women and new mums, to baby swimming, baby massage courses, baby yoga, crawling lessons and sound journeys with baby – Stephanie offers a wide range of activities. She is also available for one-to-one consultations.

Stephanie's tips for your first holiday with your baby

First and foremost, I believe it is important to find the right time, i.e. to understand when your family is ready to go on holiday. Choosing the right destination is equally important. It does not necessarily have to be a flight to a hot country, where your child may take a long time to adjust to the heat and new surroundings. Instead, your first holiday can be a wonderful car trip, regardless of the destination.

It is generally recommended to stay in the same place for at least 4-5 days. It is especially important for the little ones to be able to settle in first.

In addition, the holiday should start with relaxed packing and a relaxed car journey. Once you arrive at your destination, you should start your break without any stress, without appointments or too many planned activities. Live in the moment and simply enjoy the time. See what is good for your baby and what they need. Often, little ones have completely different eating and sleeping habits on holiday, which means that planned meals or booked activities may not go as expected. This is the first holiday together for both you and your baby, and you first need to find out what your family's needs are.
