Flammi goes hiking – with colorful Hiking Stones across South Tyrol

Published 18.07.2025

The summer at the Feuerstein is set to be creative, vibrant, and adventurous – because our very own Flammi has laced up his hiking boots! From now on he’ll accompany families on their excursions through the South Tyrolean mountains, leaving behind little hand-painted traces: our Feuerstein Hiking Stones.

The idea behind these stones is as simple as it is enchanting: in our kids’ club, children paint hiking stones – with bright colors, patterns, tiny messages, or a cheerful Flammi. If you’d rather set off straight away, just grab one of the stones we’ve prepared. During your hike, place the stone in a beautiful spot – perhaps beside the trail, on an alpine pasture, or at the summit cross. There it waits to be discovered and carried farther by curious hikers – a small greeting from Feuerstein that keeps on traveling.

How does it work?

Paints, brushes, and inspiration await in the kids’ club, and the finished stones are available at reception. The back of each stone explains that it’s a “Feuerstein Hiking Stone” – with an invitation to photograph it and either hide it in a new location or take it home as a souvenir. Even better: anyone who finds or takes a stone can share a photo in the Facebook group “Wandersteine Südtirol” or tag us on Instagram. This lets everyone trace the journeys of these tiny works of art – perhaps even far beyond the borders of South Tyrol.

Every hiking stone tells its own story. It becomes the companion of a special family moment, a silent witness to an adventure – and perhaps even a link between strangers who will never meet, yet hold the same stone in their hands.

So: brushes ready, backpacks packed – off you go! We can’t wait to see where Flammi and his colorful greetings will accompany you.
