Flammi’s packing list for a family holiday at the Feuerstein

Flammi explains what little guests need to pack in their suitcase for their family holiday in South Tyrol.

The excitement before a holiday often begins long before arrival. While children dream of the swimming lake, the animals on the farm, the painting studio, adventures in the forest and Flammi, the first suitcases are already waiting at home. What needs to come along? What should definitely not be forgotten? And what should you think of when going on holiday with a baby or toddler in South Tyrol?

At the Feuerstein, a family holiday can feel lighter from the very beginning. Because here, many of the things that make everyday family life and travelling easier for parents have already been thought of. From lovingly prepared rooms and the right equipment in the restaurant to practical items for walks, excursions and little adventures in nature: many baby and child essentials are already waiting for you on site.

Essentials that make arriving and feeling at home easier

Anyone travelling with a baby or toddler knows: it is often the little things that make a holiday more relaxed. A baby cot already waiting in the room. A fall-out protection for older children. A changing mat, a night light, a kettle or a nappy bin that do not need to be organised first, but are simply there.

At the Feuerstein, families will find thoughtfully selected children’s equipment in their rooms, suites or chalets, making the holiday pleasant from the very first moment. For the youngest guests, baby cots for children up to the age of two are available, as well as fall-out protection, changing mats in the rooms and suites or a changing table in the chalets. Potties, toilet seat reducers, stools, children’s bathrobes, bathing capes, children’s shampoo, body lotion and a night light are also among the things that make a stay with small children especially uncomplicated.

Practical items for small and big adventures

The Feuerstein is located right in the heart of nature in the Pflersch Valley. Outside, forests, meadows, water, mountains and many little wonders are waiting to be discovered by children with wide-open eyes. To ensure that families are well equipped when out and about, many practical companions can be borrowed at the resort.

Prams and buggies with footmuffs, child carriers, baby and child carrying aids, children’s backpacks and child seats for the car make excursions especially pleasant. Baby monitors, bottle warmers, hot water bottles, swimming aids, baby bouncers, games and books are also available. For families, this means less luggage, less organisation and more lightness.

Moments of enjoyment for the whole family

In the restaurant, too, the Feuerstein has thought of the needs of its little guests. High chairs, also with newborn attachments, children’s tableware, children’s cutlery and bibs help make shared meals relaxed and enjoyable.

At lunchtime, the Kids Restaurant welcomes all children; in the evening, it is open for children who can already eat independently. In addition, there is a separate children’s menu in the hotel restaurant in the evening, a children’s buffet, baby food jars at the buffet and, on request, freshly prepared homemade baby food with vegetables, meat, fruit or grains. Colouring pages and pencils help make time at the table pleasant for little guests, too.

What can go in the suitcase

Even though many things are already provided at the Feuerstein, there are still some items that are best brought from home. These include comfortable clothing for indoors and outdoors, T-shirts, jumpers, short and long trousers, dresses or skirts, socks, underwear, pyjamas and, depending on the season, swimwear, a rain jacket and muddy buddy trousers.

For adventures in nature, Flammi recommends good shoes. Trainers, hiking shoes, sandals or wellies are practical companions depending on the weather and season. In summer, a sun hat, sunglasses and sun protection should also go in the suitcase. In winter, little guests will be happy to have a ski suit, thermal ski underwear, warm socks, winter shoes, a hat, gloves and a scarf.

And then, of course, there are those things that no packing list should be without: toothbrush, toothpaste, personal care products, dummy, comfort blanket, favourite book, small travel game and, above all, the favourite cuddly toy. Because sometimes this one little piece of home is the most important thing in the whole suitcase.

Flammi’s tip for a holiday in the mountains

Flammi knows the Pflersch Valley very well. He knows that the weather in the mountains can sometimes change quickly. Even in summer, evenings can become pleasantly cool, especially after a day at the swimming lake, on the farm or outside in the forest. That is why Flammi recommends always packing a warm jacket and something long to wear.

For little explorers, comfortable clothing, good shoes and a water bottle are especially practical. Because at the Feuerstein, there is something new to experience every day: visiting the animals, wandering through nature, getting creative, splashing, playing, marvelling and falling into bed tired but happy.

In case something is missing after all

And if something has been forgotten at home? Then there is no need to worry. In the Feuerstein Concept Store, families will find many lovingly selected items that are useful, beautiful or simply special during a holiday. From small everyday helpers to special favourite pieces, there is much to discover that makes your stay even more pleasant.
