Sauna for Children: Warmth, Well-being, and Family Time

La famiglia visita insieme la sauna per famiglie Feurstein nella spa per famiglie

A visit to the sauna is not only beneficial for adults – children can also enjoy and benefit from the gentle warmth. At Feuerstein, our Family Sauna offers a space where both young and old can relax together. Sauna sessions can be a wonderful experience for children and offer many advantages – as long as some important rules are followed.

Why is sauna bathing good for children?

Regular sauna visits strengthen the immune system, improve blood circulation, and help the body adapt more easily to temperature changes. Especially during the colder months, sauna bathing can be a valuable way to prevent colds. In addition, the warmth helps children relax and promotes restful sleep – ideal after an active day in the natural surroundings of the Pflersch Valley.

Our Family Sauna: Gentle warmth for the whole family

Our specially designed Family Sauna in the Mountain Spa offers a mild temperature (around 60–70°C), perfect for sensitive children’s skin. Just like in the adults-only area, you'll find a pleasantly scented pine sauna, where the subtle aroma of stone pine encourages relaxation, and a gentle steam sauna that opens the pores with its moist heat. Older children, under parental supervision, can also try our classic Finnish mountain sauna with regular infusions at up to 90°C. This way, everyone can enjoy sauna time together – each at their ideal temperature.

Tips for a successful sauna visit with children

To make a child's first sauna experience positive, here are a few simple rules:

  1. Introduce slowly – A few minutes at moderate temperatures are enough for the first visit.

  2. Watch body signals – Children should always be allowed to leave the sauna if they feel too warm.

  3. Stay hydrated – Sauna bathing causes sweating! Make sure to drink plenty of water afterward.

  4. Gentle cooling – Lukewarm water is more comfortable for children than a cold plunge.

  5. Create a calm atmosphere – A quiet and relaxed setting enhances the experience and helps everyone unwind.

A shared break in the Mountain Spa

Sauna time with the whole family is a wonderful way to relax together and take care of your well-being. For children, sauna bathing becomes not just a healthy ritual, but also a cherished family experience.
