Julia, you have been Director at Feuerstein since November. Do you remember your first day at Feuerstein?
Yes, of course. But I remember my second day even more clearly. That was when I discovered the mud room and was truly overwhelmed. In that moment, I once again became fully aware of how much love, conviction and attention to detail goes into the Feuerstein experience for families and children.
What personally attracted you to Feuerstein and made you take this step?
The position of Director at Feuerstein is clearly a major challenge. I worked hard for many years to get to where I am today. When the offer came, the timing was exactly right. I didn’t hesitate for a moment.
If you had to describe yourself to guests in three words, which would they be?
Warm-hearted, reliable and down-to-earth.
Your professional path has taken you through various stages. Which experiences shape you most today?
My husband and I successfully ran a business together for almost 20 years. That time strongly shaped my mindset. You only truly move forward in professional life with diligence, consistency and sound business sense. I bring this experience into my daily work every single day.
Was there an experience that particularly influenced your understanding of good hospitality?
Yes, the trust placed in me by the owner in my role as Director. Only when trust is given can something truly beautiful and sustainable grow.
What does modern, responsible hotel management mean to you?
Quite clearly, the guest always comes first for me. Modern, responsible hotel management means meeting guests with attentiveness, quality and authenticity. This includes targeted investment in staff training, the highest standards for products and services, and a keen sense of the spirit of the times and the evolving needs of our guests.
What does the Feuerstein philosophy of family, nature and genuine encounters mean to you, and which values are especially important to you in daily interactions with your team and guests?
This philosophy reflects my personal values. They are values I stand for and consciously pass on to my children. Openness, truly listening and empathy form the basis of good cooperation, both within the team and in daily contact with our guests.
How do you manage to balance luxury, warmth and naturalness?
By consistently focusing on quality, both in products and in the training and development of our staff. The more convincingly you stand behind what you offer, the more authentically it is perceived by guests.
Feuerstein is a place for families seeking peace and relaxation. What makes a successful family holiday for you?
A holiday you return home from with beautiful memories. Memories that you can draw strength from even months or years later.
