In the distant year 1884, 20 Sterzing farmers founded a milk and cheese factory out of conviction and love for traditional farming – the Sterzing Steam Dairy Cooperative. Then, as now, you can recognise the quality by the pure, unadulterated taste of the milk. Every day the white gold is collected from the members' farms within a radius of 50 km and refined accordingly in the modern production halls of the Sterzing dairy farm. The Sterzing dairy farm is a leader regarding the quality of the milk it processes. Sterzinger yoghurt is known far beyond the borders of the country. The natural, full-bodied and unmistakably creamy yoghurt which is made from natural mountain milk contains many living cultures, but no colourings or preservatives. Yoghurt is the passion that drives the Sterzing dairy farm to keep on the lookout for new and exquisite ingredients. The organic line is particularly successful and of high quality.
In summer, every week the dairy farm gives locals and guests a look behind the scenes.
